Boutique Country Clay

Our clay was found at the bottom of a smaller karst cave on the edge of Dry Carniola. The cave, which has no name yet, was discovered by my father in the middle of 2016. Afterwards, we widened the entrance a bit with a shovel and a bucket and dumped the stones, so that eventually it was possible to crawl our way along the long muddy trench, which is long enough to turn around only in one part.

At home, we pressed, rolled, modeled and partially also cleaned the clay. It feels greasy and clayey between the fingers, but it has a rough texture and some archaeological touch due to the added sand, decomposed wood and animal bones. Said with fine words - it perfectly reflects the rocky forest and the poor landscape in which it has found itself and is doing well in the company of Cviček, the Lily of the Valley plant and dried-meat products.
