Renče
Before the Second World War, the inhabitants of Renče went to the cinema to Bukovica or Gorizia. In the post-war period, the GOROP (Gorizia brickworks) cinema came. Oskar Kuzmin from Bilje was the cinema operator and manag- er; however, the films were also screened by Ludvik Arčon from Renče for many years. Viewers often saw two screenings and sometimes even none at all or just a half of it, since the filmstrip was often torn. Oskar had a habit of addressing the visitors if he thought they were too loud. He swore at some brat, also slapped him and sent him home. Since there was only one projector in the cinema cabin, the film reels needed to be replaced. It was time for a break. When Ludvik was absent, the breaks were longer. Oskar liked to talk at length and forgot about the time dimension at a nearby bar counter. The cinema in Renče was a real experience, a kind of a film theatre, and Oskar was able to take care of a suitable repertoire.
